Calvin Cargill, M.A., M.D., FAAFP

Dr. Cargill is a graduate of University of Texas Health Science Medical Center San Antonio, Texas with a Master of Arts in Physiology. He was granted acceptance as a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians in 2015 after 25 years of practicing.

Dr. Cargill has been practicing over 28 years, the last two years as the Chief of Medicine for MCHD and the last three years as Medical Director and Physician of MCHD Family Clinic.

Dr. Cargill’s patient loyalty is attributed to his caring and gentle manner. He practices with a common sense approach to medicine and tries to always balance between what is reasonable and necessary for a high standard of care. A hug and a kind word are always helpful with medical illness and elderly life issues.

Melencio Juan, M.D.

Dr. Juan is a graduate of the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. Dr. Juan completed a post graduate internship in Santo Tomas University Hospital leading him to a staff position at San Antonio District Hospital in Nueva Ecija, Philippines.

Shortly thereafter, he immigrated to the US working in multiple satisfying healthcare positions. In 1999, Dr. Juan completed Family Practice residency training at Whichita Falls Family Practice.

Moving to Big Spring in 2001, Dr. Juan practiced Family Medicine in both the inpatient and outpatient setting until accepting a family practice position at MCHD in 2014 where he currently enjoys practicing family medicine and his close patient interaction that a small rural community brings.

Dr. Juan is board certified from the American Board of Family Practice and currently sits a member of the Permian Basin County Medical Society.

Hima Pachuri, D.O.

Dr. Parchuri joined Martin County Hospital District in November 2019 along with her husband Dr. Mark Salcone.

Dr. Parchuri grew up in Lansdale, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia. After receiving her medical degree from Rowen University School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2005, she completed a Family Medicine Residency in 2008.

Upon completing her Residency training she pursued a two-year Geriatric Fellowship graduating in 2010. She is currently board certified in Geriatrics and Family Medicine.

Dr. Parchuri states “taking care of patients and being something positive in someone’s life is what makes her career rewarding.” She enjoys taking the most complicated patient and together, finding the right balance for them to live their best life.

Mark Salcone, D.O.

Dr. Mark Salcone joined Martin County Hospital District & Family Clinic in November 2019. He is from Mullica Hill, New Jersey, a city twenty minutes south of Philadelphia.

He graduated from Rowen University School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2005 and completed his residency training in general surgery in 2010. Dr. Salcone continued his advanced training and completed a Fellowship in Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), Richmond Virginia in 2011.

Upon completion of his surgical training he spent the next eight years providing surgical services at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden, New Jersey, with five of those as the Director of the Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Center of Excellence.

There he performed minimally invasive procedures such as gallbladder removals, hernia repairs, gastric bypasses and gastric sleeves. Dr. Salcone will be offering general surgery, colonoscopy, and endoscopy procedures at Martin County Hospital.

Dr. Salcone is now accepting referrals and new patients in the Martin County Family Clinic

Elisa Brantly, M.D.

Dr. Elisa Brantly embarked on her medical journey at Abilene Christian University, where she graduated with a degree in Biochemistry. Her pursuit of excellence in medicine led her to the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio for medical school. There, she not only completed her medical degree but also dedicated six years to an intensive training program, encompassing a general surgery internship, a second year of rigorous training, and four years specializing in urology.

For the past 12 years, Dr. Brantly has been practicing general urology in San Angelo, where she is well-regarded for her expertise, compassion, and dedication to her patients. Beyond her professional achievements, she finds her greatest joy in life from raising her two daughters alongside her husband, Dr. Chad Brantly.

Robin Alvarado, FNP-C

Robin Alvarado graduated from Texas Tech University Health Science Center with a Master’s in Nursing and is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Robin is the hospitalist at MCHD and a provider at MCHD Family Clinic RHC.

Robin has been a Nurse Practitioner since she graduated from Texas Tech in 2009 and practiced at MCHD since 2013 with a passion for women’s health and primary care. Robin’s years of nursing has instilled a strong belief that listening to her patients and giving each person the individualized attention they require at any age is the key benefit to care.

Robin has a charismatic and practical approach to family medicine and always goes the extra mile for her patients.

Megan Chandler, FNP-C

Megan Chandler is a graduate of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing where she completed her Masters in Nursing and is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner.

She also completed her undergraduate degree at Texas Tech. Megan is able to care for all age ranges and this includes wellness exams from birth through the end of life.

She prides herself on providing thorough care and excellent patient satisfaction. She is confident in managing chronic illness but also more acute care concerns. Megan has enjoyed family practice and holds a special spot for pediatrics.

Linda Pierce, FNP-C

Linda has been with the MCHD family since 2009, she started as a Licensed Vocational Nurse and over time advanced her career to a Nurse Practitioner all while remaining dedicated to MCHD and the patients of Martin County.

Linda received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2014 and continued her education obtaining her Family Nurse Practitioner in 2018; both from Texas Tech University. Between education and accumulated years of experience with MCHD, she has built solid relationships with the community, her patients, and staff. She prides herself in establishing thorough care and focusing on the individualized needs of all the patients in her practice.

Keith Gist, CRNA

Keith Gist, CRNA, APRN, NSPM-C has been affiliated with Martin County Hospital District since 2016. He received his Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 2011 from Texas Tech University. He attended Union University in Jackson, TN for the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) program graduating in 2014. He recently added to his education by completing a Fellowship in 2018 at Texas Cristian University becoming board certified in Non-Surgical Pain Management.
Keith received three years of critical care experience in the Intensive Care Unit at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, TX before attending the CRNA program. After completion of the program, he moved to the Permian Basin working as a CRNA at Midland Memorial Hospital for two years in the surgery department.
Keith desires to make each person and their family as comfortable for surgery as possible. He enjoys being a part of the patient’s physical and emotional healing process from beginning to end.

Kasey Ramirez, FNP-C

Kasey Ramirez is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington with a Master’s in Nursing. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is board certified. Kasey began her career at Martin County Hospital in 2013 as a Certified Nurse Assistant.

She returned to MCHD in 2022 as a hospitalist and a provider in the Martin County Family Clinic. She has a passion for pediatrics and primary care. Kasey prides herself on providing thorough and individualized care for all her patients.

Kasey’s nursing experience in a wide variety of specialties have prepared her for a wide range of patient care needs. Kasey sees patients of all ages and offers management of both chronic conditions and acute illness.

Edward “Maurice” Lopez, DNP, FNP-BC

Maurice Lopez has been in practice as a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner in Family Medicine since 2010. He received his Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing from Texas Tech Health Science Center in Lubbock, Texas. He received his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

As a Doctor of Nursing Practice and Family Nurse Practitioner, he provides holistic care that meets his patient’s physical, mental, spiritual, and environmental needs in life. His education has allowed him to look past the patient’s physical disease and to treat the multifaceted
aspects of the patient’s life, which all influence one’s long-term health. Lifestyle Medicine is the
foundation of his current practice with the focus on decreasing or preventing the effects of chronic illness on his patients. Maurice is one of the most recent additions to the Martin County Hospital District, joining the Family Clinic in March 2023.

Lark Olivas

Raised in Big Spring, TX, Lark Olivas brings over two decades of dedicated service in nursing to her role as a Family Nurse Practitioner. After 21 years as a nurse, in 2020, Ms. Olivas graduated with honors from Walden University, earning a Master’s Degree in Nursing. Her diverse experience spans various roles, with a notable focus on primary care for the underserved—a testament to her dedication to making healthcare accessible to all.

Currently, Ms. Olivas is pursuing a psychiatric certification, underscoring her commitment to addressing the comprehensive needs of patients. Her approach to patient care is meticulous and compassionate, ensuring that every individual receives personalized care.

She prides herself on her patient-centric approach, firmly believing in the power of compassion and strong communication with both patients and their families. Her practice welcomes patients of all ages, offering a holistic care experience that seeks to improve not just immediate health concerns but also long-term well-being.
